Art Among Us - Felted Creations (with Nicole)

Mastering Landcapes - Photography Workshop (with Mike Goodman)
Saturday, January 26 and Saturday, February 16 Registrations close on Wednesday, January 23 Teen/Adult $80 In this two session, workshop we will focus on capturing landscapes that have impact. Topics will include: finding landscapes , selecting the best perspective, lighting, insider secrets, the technical stuff including post-processing. In the first session, we will cover these topics at length and examine numerous examples of award winning landscapes taken close to home and across the globe. In the second session, students will be asked to submit their own images for feedback and learning as well as a landscape assignment. Throughout, there will be extensive opportunity for questions & answers as well as open discussions on all aspects of landscape imagery. **Students should have had a basic course in photography (such as the one offered by MSA’s Joe Perna or equivalent) and can handle operating their camera. This course assumes basic knowledge of photography.
Ongoing 4th Saturday of the month beginning January 26, 10:00am-1:00pm Teen/Adult $20 plus shared cost of model Join Emily for these ongoing monthly figure drawing workshops. You will have the opportunity to work with a live model and learn how to depict form and volume while mastering the basics of proportion and gesture. Great option for college prep.
Tuesday, January 29 and Wednesday, January 30, 6:00-9:00pm Registrations close on Friday, January 25 Teen/Adult $80 + materials This two-day workshop will set you up with the basics needed to start painting - starting with choosing your materials, selecting your paints and colors, what kind of painting medium to use, which brushes to paint with, and more. All levels welcome. MSA does not provide materials for this class. Students should bring their own materials from home. Suggested materials list.
Tuesday, February 5 and Wednesday, February 6, 6:00-9:00pm Registrations close on Friday, February 1 Teen/Adult $80 + (optional) materials Have you done some oil painting in the past? Or have you always wanted to have a little more help with a piece in progress? This workshop will help you go over some of the basics such as how to better set up your palette, what is the best painting medium to use, how to better mix colors, and generally refreshen a work in progress. For advances beginners who want to use oil paint better and for veterans who want to get back into the mix; this workshop will be personalized to the members of the class. MSA does not provide materials for this class. Students should bring their own materials from home. Suggested materials list.
Tuesday, February 12 and Wednesday, February 13, 6:00-9:00pm Registrations close on Friday, February 8 Teen/Adult $80 Do you have unfinished painting crying out for a fresh eye and a few suggestions? This workshop will offer ideas on artworks you bring in to work on - allowing you time and space to finish these pieces; either through a numbered step by step plan on saving it or some surrealist exercises in exploring the subconscious to find new ways of creating. Or, if it's unsaveable, cutting and collaging it into something new or gessoing over it to start again. An opportunity to paint, get feedback or works in progress, make plans, and use the deadline to finish the painting.
