Split! Splat! Crusty! Crunchy! Texture Camp
9am-12pm; ages 5-8
Teacher: Alysha

Campers will transform their artwork through creating implied texture using found tools like sponges, bubble wrap, cardboard, forks, combs, toothbrushes, and the common paintbrush. Campers will explore how different materials react to each other. What happens when salt is used with watercolor? Or Elmer’s glue with watercolor? Do you know what would happen if cling wrap was put on a watercolor as it dries? How do you create physical texture? There are so many experiments to be had… so come jump on in and explore all this camp has to offer.

A mask by you, for you!
2pm-5pm; ages 9-13
Teacher: Alysha

Whether it be inspired from around the world or from their imagination, campers will have an opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind plaster mask. Campers will start the process by applying and layering plaster strips to their actual face. A plastic molding will be offered if they wish to skip the face application process. Once the base of their mask is created, campers will get their creative juices flowing by adding different materials to create a narrative for this personalized piece. By the end of the week campers will walk away with a unique mask that will visually tell a story.
