Art of Making an Animated Film: A Day at the Beach Teacher: Lily Ages 9-13 2pm-5pm Is your child interested in movies? This camp offers the opportunity for each student to learn about directing, story-boarding, background design, and animating as they develop a short animated film. Using cut paper, your child will work with the group to create a small animation depicting a day at the beach! Just like a real movie, each student can see their name as the credits roll, and can take the film home to share with friends and family.
Shark Week Teacher: Nicole Ages 9-13 2pm-5pm In this camp, students will create art all about sharks and things that dwell in the ocean. Projects include: koi fish & jellyfish puppets, blow, spiny fish, coral reef fish platter painting, shark teeth sculpture, driftwood fish mobile, and dorsal fin wall sculpture.
Off to the Races! A Pixellation Project Teacher: Lily Ages 5-8 9am-12pm This week long camp starts with a bang as each child decorates their own paper cut out car (almost the size of them!). As the week progresses the kids learn the basics about animation and movement. The pixellation starts when the students get in front of the camera, and slowly move about. With each small step a new photo is taken. Watch the final video to see your child and their automobile zoom around the screen!
Seacoast Summer Art Teacher: Nicole Ages 9-13 2pm-5pm This week, campers will work on projects all about summer in the Seacoast! Projects include: fish print canvas, mason jar firefly watercolor painting, sandcastles & lighthouses, and summer sunset acrylic on canvas.
Summer Camps will conclude with a Summer Camp Showcase. This showcase will feature the artwork created by campers throughout the summer. Campers are encouraged to leave their favorite pieces after their camp week ends (work will be returned after the Showcase closes in September.) Students and their families and friends are invited to attend the opening reception of the Showcase on Friday, August 17.
