Marissa Vitolo grew up in a suburb west of Houston, TX before heading to college at Texas State University, where she received her BFA in Studio Art with All-Level Art Certification.

After returning to her hometown for her first art-teaching job, as well as to raise her family, she relocated to Exeter, NH as a result of her husband taking a teaching job at Phillips Exeter Academy. Currently, she is teaching high school art in SAU17 and also teaches at Phillips Exeter Academy every summer. Marissa has now taught art for over 14 years both in and out of public schools.

Along with teaching, Marissa volunteers with Town Exeter Arts and Music as their Education Coordinator. She is also on the board of Main Street Art in addition to being on their education committee. Starting in the 2018-19 school year, she will be the Southeast-Seacoast District VP for the New Hampshire Art Education Association.

In her free time, Marissa spends time making ceramic work, paintings, jewelry, or colored pencil drawings. She is currently featured in several galleries.
