About the Main Street Art Gallery
The gallery at Main Street Art is proud to present professional artists and their work in our shared gallery/classroom space. With over 600 sq.ft. of space, including the more formal gallery and the inner classroom space, it is a warm and inviting environment to experience all styles of work. With at least 10 new shows a year, art talks, and cross over classroom projects, our gallery offers great opportunities for community and student enrichment. Join our mailing list to be sure to get all the news related to our gallery and more. We accept work on a rolling basis, though typically we are scheduling shows at least 6 months in advance. If you are an artist with an interest in showing with us, please email the gallery for more information, or to submit your material. MSA appreciates well-crafted work and we are open to working with artists in all genres, mediums, and levels of experience.
MSA Seeking Gallery Exhibit Sponsors!
This November, MSA is pleased to feature Fred Vigeant from Stratford, CT to showcase his photographs from his time serving in Vietnam. Fred served with the U.S. Army, Americal Division, in Vietnam during 1971. His artillery unit was stationed near a hospital and orphanages, and the soldiers in his unit gave help, including medical assistance, to the children and staff. Fred took many compelling images of this, photographing during the day when duty allowed, and spending his evenings developing and printing images. The original 35 mm film he used has been scanned to allow for digital printing for this show. His exhibit aims to tell a different kind of story about Vietnam than we often hear. It is about the kids – the ones in the orphanage and the ones who fought. Main Street Art wants area residents and organizations, especially veterans and those which support veterans, to be aware of the exhibition, which opens on Veterans Day, November 11. We are also looking for sponsors to help cover the cost of the printing of the final photographs for this exhibit. Because we are a 501c3 charity, donations are tax deductible. Any amount will be appreciated, and sponsors will receive recognition in our various social media. We hope that you will kindly consider sponsoring this event. Your contribution can be sent directly to Main Street Art, PO Box 252, Newfields, NH 03856.
Art Talks Art talks are a great way to become better acquainted with the artist and their process in this informal lecture structure, the public is welcome to broaden their gallery experience. They will be held during the current exhibition - Windows: Picture This - on Saturdays at noon. A schedule of topics and presenters will be posted shortly
