Main Street Art is a not for profit community art center whose purpose is to provide a place of opportunity for art education and exhibition, creating an environment where people can come together to experience, appreciate and participate in the visual arts and where all abilities are welcomed and celebrated.
Annually, we offer more than 25 art classes plus numerous workshops to students who range from elementary school to adults, and have a program for adults with developmental disabilities. We also operate summer camps and this year we are offering 16 summer camps to elementary school campers. Main Street Art annually offers 8 to 10 art exhibitions, free of charge, has just completed an all-school art activity at the local elementary school, and is engaged in a collaborative community performing and visual art project which includes MSA, the Paul Library and the Newfields Elementary School.
In addition, Main Street Art provides workshops for children, teens and adults in a variety of areas of visual art including painting, drawing, photography and iPhone art. We present free Art Talks where visitors can meet with the artists and learn about their motivation, processes and techniques. We also offer artist in residence programs (free to participants), each resulting in a community art project and public art for members of the community to enjoy.
Main Street Art also provides art activities at community events, including the Holiday Celebration, Memorial Day Celebration, Senior Luncheon, and others. We offer an ongoing art programming for teens, And, MSA is a drop-in art resource center where we share expertise with visitors who have art related questions or who need guidance on their personal projects and art interests.
