This show comes together as a great conversation between high art practice and the influence imparted by the graphic design world. The shared visual language between genres is bright and full of diversity, bringing contemporary artists into a space that has formal elements but reaches into current art practices.
Participating artists are Marcy Pope, Alicia Quimby, Jodi Scaltreto, Carter Humphries, Soosen Dunholter, and Bryan Rutland.
While their styles and materials vary, they come together with common threads that starts to transcend each surface in a greater discussion about contemporary life practices, mediated influences, social and art history, and current events.
This show contains sepia ink drawing, mixed-media paper collage, acrylic painting, and fiber art. With small and large scale pieces, there is something for everyone to enjoy. On view until March 25.
